Instructions for The Video/Presentation Projects

Choose ONE of the following…

Besides the projects above, you are to chose one of the following projects. With these projects, you may decide to work as a group or to work alone. You should know, however, that all projects, even group projects, are subject to the success or failure of the delivery of the project. If the project is not delivered, whatever the reason… the story becomes a sad, sad tale.

You: “The dog ate my computer…”

Señor: “That’s so sad.”

  • Scripts must be submitted for approval and receive approval before filming begins.
  • Scripts, props, costumes, and actions must remain appropriate for school setting.
  • The Short Film may be no longer than 5 minutes in length and no shorter than 3.
  • Examples of short movies can be found at Videos (Please note the great importance that setting, props, and emotion played in conveying meaning during these examples.)

  • Your script must be submitted and approved before filming begins.

  • Your instructional video may be no longer than 4 minutes and no shorter than 2.
  • Remember how to make tortillas? (You can make something similar to that. Come up with between 10-15 sentences. Use verbs you already know, or really easy ones. Write the script. Submit it for approval. Practice, practice, practice. Film a few lines at a time–not the whole thing in one take. Don’t rush while filming. Finish the project and submit according to directions.)

5) Working Alone: Poetry Recitation

You can recite the poetry of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.

  • If you are in Spanish 9, you are required to recite a number of poems consisting of at least 4 lines of poetry. (2 POEMS)
  • If you are in Spanish 10 or above, you are required to recite a number of poems consisting of at least 8 lines of poetry. (2 POEMS)
  • You may NOT recite only part of a poem.
  • If you have recited poetry before as an assignment, you may not chose this project.
  • You

Poem recitations can happen one of two ways:

  1. You may recite your poems in class, publicly (but I schedule the day, and if you don’t show, that’s a sad, sad story)
  2. You may record a video of yourself reciting your poems, upload it to YouTube and submit the link via email—to be shown to the class

In either case YOU MAY NOT READ the poem! And correct pronunciation, emotion, and props are required. You may not simply say the words of the poems. You must make us believe that you mean what you say.
