Hero or Villain? The Interview and Cover
You get to choose whether you are a Super Hero or a Super Villain… and then you get to tell us all about your life. Think of it like Lois Lane interviewing Superman, or Roxanne interviewing Megamind. Let’s hear all about you!
- ¿Quién eres? ¿Dónde vives? Who are you? Where do you live? (pick a city)
- ¿Cómo es tu día normal? ¿Adónde vas? ¿Qué haces? What’s your normal day like? Where do you go? What do you do?
- ¿Cómo es un buen día para ti? ¿Cómo es un mal día? What’s it like when you have a a good day? A bad day?
- ¿Qué haces para prepararte para el día? What do you do to get ready for the day? (use reflexives, talk about clothes) ¿Qué ropa llevas? ¿De qué está hecho/a? ¿De qué están hechos/hechas? What clothes do you wear? What are they made of?
- Descríbete. Describe yourself physically. Describe a tu compañero o miñión. Describe your sidekick or minion.
- ¿De qué estás entusiasmado? What are you enthusiastic about? ¿Qué te importa? What matters to your character?
- ¿Cómo eras antes de llegar a ser un héroe/heroína/villano/villana? What were you like before you became a hero or villain?
- ¿Qué te pasó? ¿Qué estabas haciendo cuando el evento del cambio/el accidente pasó? What happened to you? What were you doing when the change event/the accident happened? (Expand on telling this. Don’t just do one sentence.)
- ¿Y ahora? Después del evento/accidente, ¿tienes algún poder especial o cosas técnicas que son especiales? Do you have any special powers or gadgets?
- ¿Cómo te entrenas? How do you train? Danos consejos. Si nosotros queremos ser héroes o villanos, ¿cómo debemos entrenarnos?¿Cómo tenemos que entrenar? ¿Qué tenemos que hacer? ¿Qué son algunas cosas que debemos aprender? Give us advice. If we want to be a hero/villain, how should we train? What are things we should learn? (Use tener que infinitive or deber que infinitive)
DO NOT USE A TRANSLATOR. Translator = Kryptonite to the heart. You die!
Keep your sentences simple enough that you can write them yourself.
If you answer these questions thoroughly, you will easily meet the sentence requirement.
INTERVIEW/PODCAST and COMIC COVER
Use the questions above to create a magazine article/podcast interview script. Something that looks similar to this (but, of course, with your own person that you make up):
Entrevistador: Hola. Hoy hablo con el Señor Increíble. Señor Increíble, ¿quién eres y dónde vives?
Señor Increíble: Soy un hombre, un super héroe. También soy padre. Vivo con mi esposa y mis niños en la ciudad . . .
E: ¿Y qué haces para prepararte para el día?
SI: Pues, primero . . .
Answer all 15 bullet points questions. Use complete sentences. Don’t use a translator. Turn the questions around. Use the vocab we have. Need a special word or two? Ask me. Stuck on a point of grammar? Ask me.
COMIC COVER
To go along with your interview/podcast, you’ll supply a comic book cover that matches your hero/villain. You get to make this up too.
On the cover, you must have/use:
- The Name of your hero or villain
- a physical depiction of your hero or villain DOING SOMETHING
- bright colors (black Sharpie and ink, paint, etc.) — NO PENCIL
- a box saying who created your character, and drew your character
- a box advertising the adventure inside your comic book
